UNODC Panel Discussion on Anti-Corruption Education

On 15 June 2022, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) organised a panel discussion focused on anti-corruption education and awareness-raising in the framework of a session of the Open-ended Intergovernmental Working Group on Prevention. The Secretariat presented a background paper prepared on the basis of the materials received from States parties; representatives of Austria, Egypt, the Russian Federation, Saudi Arabia and UNDP participated in the panel. They talked about approaches to the implementation of anti-corruption curricula for officers of anti-corruption divisions, other civil servants, university and school students, experience of establishing national anti-corruption educational centres, and the use of mobile applications, games and digital handbooks for anti-corruption education. Alexey Konov, Director of the Anti-Corruption Centre, shared Russia’s experience in the field. Mr. Konov’s presentation was focused, in particular, on the origins of and the development prospects for the Anti-Corruption Portal of the Higher School of Economics University.
