Corruption and Investments: UNODC Regional Seminar

On May 18 to 20 Samarkand hosted a regional workshop on preventing and combating corruption in international investment projects. The workshop was organised by UNODC in cooperation with the Anti-Corruption Agency and the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Uzbekistan under the project “Fostering sustainable development by supporting the implementation of the United Nations Convention against Corruption in countries along the Silk Road Economic Belt”. The workshop discussions were focused on possible approaches to countering corruption in infrastructure projects involving both domestic and foreign investments. The workshop saw the participation of experts from ten countries. Alexey Konov, Director of the Anti-Corruption Centre, delivered a key note speech and moderated the event.
